Overview

To claim the cost of textbooks, you will need the tax certificate that your educational institution sends you.

Using the Schedule 11 form, you can claim $20 times the amount shown in box B of the tax certificate for part-time study and $65 times the amount in box C for full-time study.

If you received a grant or reimbursement from someone such as an employer, a benefit such as free meals or boarding from a program, or an allowance such as for training, you are not eligible to claim your textbooks.
