Conditions
The Health Contribution of $100 for 2011 applies to all taxpayers, except trusts:
18 years or older
Residing in Québec on December 31, 2011
Whose family income for the year is higher than the exemption threshold applicable to the family’s situation
In the case of a couple, each spouse will be required to pay the Health Contribution.
Exemption thresholds
Exemption thresholds are based on your family situation, and are the sum of each spouse's net income.
1 adult, no dependent children: $14,410 exemption threshold
2 adults, 2 or more dependent children: $29, 310 exemption threshold
Due date for the Health Contribution
For any given tax year, the Health Contribution must be paid to Revenu Québec before April 30 of the following year. If you have to pay tax installments, you must add the Health Contribution to the tax payable for that year.
