QuickTax Is Now Called TurboTax

It simply means that we have a new name – that’s all. TurboTax (previously QuickTax) is still the best-selling personal tax software in Canada¹. If you’re a returning customer, everything that you expect from your tax software is still there. TurboTax will still be certified by the CRA and MRQ and continues to offer the best support in the industry.²

Absolutely. You can import last year’s QuickTax data with the click of a button, just like in previous seasons. If you’re a new customer, the desktop version of TurboTax can easily import data from UFile and other tax software.³

Not at all. Everything will look familiar. All the features you’ve come to know and trust are built into TurboTax. TurboTax continues to guide you through life changes that can affect your taxes, and walk you through your return with step by step guidance to help you find every credit you deserve and get your maximum refund. TurboTax continues to guarantee 100% accurate calculations⁴ and offers Free phone, email or chat support 7 days a week during tax season.⁵

TurboTax is Intuit’s global brand name for personal tax software. Our other Canadian products, such as Quicken, QuickBooks and Mint.com all use our global brand names. It makes sense to have the same brand around the world – particularly in North America where so much news and advertising carries across the border between Canada and the US.

• QuickTax Platinum is now called TurboTax Premier
• QuickTax Business Unincorporated is now called TurboTax Home & Business

The reason we changed these product names was because we learned from customers that:

1. The “Premier” and “Home & Business” names are easier to understand than “Platinum” and “Business Unincorporated”.
2. The new names help customers better differentiate between our products when deciding which TurboTax product is right for them.

The four CD/Download versions available are: Basic, Standard, Premier and Home & Business.

There is no change to the way you use these products. Both products are still the exact same tax software programs you’ve come to know and trust to help you prepare your personal and/or home business taxes.

• Your Platinum and Business Unincorporated Tax Year 2009 data will carry forward into Premier and Home & Business Tax Year 2010, the same way it always has.

• Customer service and Technical support will not change. You will continue to receive a toll free support number, along with access to tax experts and professionals available to help you as needed.
