Tax Tip: Do Full-Time Students Pay Income Tax?

Overview

Full-time students are not exempt from paying income tax in Canada. If you received any income, including summer jobs, part-time jobs, scholarships, bursaries or grants, you need to file an income tax return. As a full-time student, you may be eligible for several deductions that can reduce the amount of tax you owe and may even provide a refund. These include deductions for tuition, moving expenses, and even childcare expenses.
