The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has limited all tax preparation software products in Canada that allow you to NETFILE to a maximum of 20 returns to be filed per computer or online account.

This guideline applies to TurboTax. It is the same guideline that was in place for the 2011 tax year.

NOTE: The 20-return limit applies to returns filed on paper or electronically using NETFILE.

TurboTax CD & download products include:

For those using TurboTax Basic or TurboTax Standard

8 returns for net individual income over $25K ("paid returns")
12 returns for net income of $25K or less ("free returns")

For those using TurboTax Premier or TurboTax Home & Business

12 returns for net individual income over $25K ("paid returns")
8 returns for net income of $25K or less ("free returns")

NOTE: Exceptions are TurboTax 20, which includes 20 returns, and TurboTax Business Incorporated, which includes 1 return.

If you get a larger refund or smaller tax due from another tax preparation method, we’ll refund the applicable TurboTax purchase price paid. Claims must be submitted within sixty (60) days of your TurboTax filing date and no later than 5/31/12 (and for TurboTax Home & Business no later than 7/15/12). Audit Defence, TurboTax Free, TurboTax Student (Free), TurboTax Business Incorporated and technical support fees are excluded. This guarantee cannot be combined with the TurboTax Satisfaction (Easy) Guarantee.
