This year we've heard from customers that CRA errors are preventing them from filing. These errors are due to a technical issue with the CRA systems calculator and are affecting all CRA certified tax software in Canada.
We strive to make TurboTax an easy seamless tax filing experience and we understand your frustration. We are advocating on your behalf by proactively requesting relief of any late-filing penalties if issues persist past April 30 and demanding a timely fix for these errors.
Here are some of the known CRA errors you might encounter when filing, what you need to know about them, and in some cases, CRA approved workarounds to resolve it. We do not recommend self-correcting or adjusting your entries without CRA approved solutions as you may be subjected to reassessment.
No resolution from the CRA currently
Error codes 45555, 45566, 90308, 95031
Error issue: Multiple - search function available at CRA website https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/publications/rc4018/chapter-2.html
Customer action: There is presently no workaround or timeframe of resolution available from CRA.
Expected resolution date: If you see one of these error codes, it's due to a CRA issue affecting all tax software in Canada. We're working with the CRA to get this resolved and have advocated for late-filing penalty relief. The CRA announced on April 14, 2025 that they are tracking cases affected by these errors, and in the event that an issue is not resolved before the April 30th filing deadline, the CRA intends to provide arrears interest and penalty relief proactively for impacted individuals who file late after having received an incorrect error code that could not be resolved when attempting to file on or before their tax filing deadline.
