We asked Canadians “What did you make this year?”

This year, artist Lina Vandal made her life a work of art.

At a young age, Lina always loved art and almost studied it earlier in her life. When it came to choosing a career, she didn’t think she could make a living as an artist, and began working in advertising.

In her 50s, Lina left her advertising job to embrace a new chapter in her life. She finally decided to reignite her passion for art and tap back into her talent. Lina is now 70 and still has many dreams and is optimistic about the future.

She feels free, and is happier than ever as her art has touched the hearts of many people.

This story is a part of a series to highlight building a life that you’re proud of and honouring the lives that people make for themselves outside of their finances.
