What is a T4A tax form?

You will receive a T4A tax slip when you receive income from pensions, retiring allowance, annuities or other income.

Some of these payments represent taxable income. The T4 tax form is used to indicate income from an employer.

What other type of income can be included?

Examples of other income include medical premium benefits, payments from the registered disability savings plan (RDSP), the Apprenticeship incentive grant, death benefits, payments from a registered education savings plan (RESP) or a tax-free savings account (TFSA).

Are there other slips similar to the T4A?

Yes, the T4A(P) for CPP and QPP benefits and the T4A(OAS) for Old Age Security payments.
