CRA My Account allows taxpayers to set up or change direct deposit banking information for the following payments:

  • Income tax refunds
  • GST/HST credit payments
  • Canada Child Tax Benefit payments
  • Universal Child Care Benefit payments

To set up direct deposit, log in to your CRA My Account and click the Arrange My Direct Deposit link under the Quick Links menu.

Once on the Direct Deposit page, click Start or Update to enter in banking information.

It is helpful to enter the information directly from a cheque of the corresponding bank account to ensure accuracy of account information. The My Account direct deposit page provides an example of where to source the account numbers from the cheque.

Direct deposit allows for prompt payment and ensures the funds are applied to the correct account.
