If your banking information has changed, you should update your direct deposit information with the Canada Revenue Agency to ensure that your tax refunds and other benefit payments are deposited into the correct account.

Updating your banking information with CRA My Account

  1. Log into your CRA My Account and click on the Accounts & Payments tab.
  2. From the page that appears, choose the Direct Deposit link and follow the posted instructions.
  3. You will need to provide your financial institution’s code, your branch number, and your account number, all of which can be found on a personal cheque. A sample image of a personal cheque is displayed for you to help you locate each required field.
